Mrs.Geetha Sheshadri

Mrs. Geetha Sheshadri (4th July 1955) was a Library & Information Scientist at the Raman Research Institute Library.

Early Years and Education

Geetha was born on 4th July 1955 to S.S. Murthy and Bhagyalaksmi in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. She had primary schooling at Bagepalli, Kolar District. She acquired B.Sc. from National College, Basavanagudi in 1973 and completed Diploma in Library Science in the year 1975 from Women's Polytechnic, Bangalore. She acquired B.L.I.Sc. from Indira Gandhi National Open University in the year 1995.


Geetha started her career as a cataloguer at Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore. She joined RRI as Library Assistant in the year 1976 and retired on the 31st July 2015 after 39 years of service as Assistant Librarian. Geetha has worked in all the sections of the library namely Periodical Section, Circulation Section and Reference Service. She was in charge of Book Acquisition and Processing section until her retirement.


Reading, listening to music, bird watching, site seeing and trekking are the hobbies of Geetha.
