About

Imaging an object through any scattering medium is a challenging task. During the past few years, Prof. Hema Ramachandran, and a research scholar, Bapan Debnath, tried to obtain the image of an object hidden behind a scattering media. They have performed one field experiment in which an object, 150 m far from the camera, was imaged in a dense fog, where the visibility was merely 50 m. Currently, they are working on imaging through fire-and-smoke, which will be very beneficial for the firefighters while conducting a search and rescue operation.
