Remarkable developments have occurred in recent times concerning investigations of fundamental aspects of Quantum Mechanics involving an intimate link between foundational ideas and experimental studies,
in particular, stemming from striking progress in the relevant experimental technologies. Such developments include the coherent preparation and manipulation of quantum systems such as photons, electrons, neutrons, ions, and molecules.
This, in turn, has given rise to a rich interplay between fundamental aspects of Quantum Mechanics, information theoretic studies and technologically relevant applications like quantum computing, quantum communication,
quantum sensing and metrology, as well as other quantum enabled technologies. Against this backdrop, the proposed conference intends to bring together the relevant experimentalists and theorists for critically deliberating
upon the state of play and prospects in developing further synergies between fundamental studies and frontier applications. The conference also proposes to have a special day dedicated to discussions on activities in
secure quantum communication, including satellite based approaches involving leading international and national experts.
