After completing my Ph.D. from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (Mumbai), I worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA), Institut Henri Poincaré (Paris, France), and Laboratoire de Physique Théorique et Modèles Statistiques (Orsay, France). I joined the Raman Research Institute (Bangalore) in 2008 as a faculty, where I am currently a professor in the Theoretical Physics group.
My research interests cover various topics of statistical physics and their applications to other fields. Some of these interests include stochastic processes, disordered systems, large deviations in nonequilibrium systems, extremes and records statistics, stochastic search processes, nonequilibrium steady state of driven inelastic/granular gases, tagged particle motion, integer partitions, and statistical physics of active particles. For highlights of my research activities, please see my research page.
