Abstract: This is the era of networking, and the availability of smart devices is leading us to a fully smart world. The practical realisation of this wonderful dream demands fabrication and development of sensors and energy harvesters of all types. Miniaturisation is the moto of semiconductor industry, and the connectivity of the world is expanding while the individual devices are getting increasingly smaller and thinner. The smallest transistors are going to be released soon, beyond which scaling down of individual elements will be difficult. Multi-functionality of existing elements is a viable option to play with, which can drastically reduce the vertical space.

As the world population ages, fabrication of Point-of-care (POC) devices as wearable electronic gadgets and their networking to facilitate constant remote monitoring of vital health parameters will become inevitable. In this talk I will focus on multifunctional sensor materials and energy harvesters fabricated in our lab, which can find extensive applications in IoT and can also serve as major active elements in next generation flexible wearable electronic devices. Results obtained on some nanodrug formulations for cancer and viral diseases also will be discussed.
