Synchrotron radiation dominates the continuum emission of star-forming galaxies in the frequency range from a few MHz to about 30 GHz.  Physics-based models are needed to understand the large amount of observational data being obtained by new radio telescopes like MeerKAT and to make predictions for forthcoming instruments like the Square Kilometre Array.  These instruments are enabling deep observations of large numbers of active and star-forming galaxies out to high redshifts.  Our galactic dynamo code MAGNETIZER models the magnetic fields, synchrotron emission, and Faraday rotation signatures of statistical populations of synthetic evolving star-forming galaxies.

We are using our model to investigate various observables including the radio luminosity functions for the total and the polarized emission, correlations between total or polarized luminosity and star-formation rate or galaxy rotation speed, the probability density function of the fractional polarization, the spatial dependence of stacked polarized intensity, etc.  Good agreement with observational data is obtained for low redshifts, but at high redshifts the results are more mixed.  After explaining the model and presenting our results, I will outline a rough vision for extending the work.
