Abstract

Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6) provides a clear and compelling motivation for research by highlighting the importance of ensuring the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all people. The goal and its associated targets serve as a call to action for researchers to develop solutions and technologies to improve access to clean water and sanitation and to protect and manage water resources sustainably. Nanotechnology is an emerging field that has shown great promise in addressing environmental challenges. In the context of wastewater treatment, nanotechnology-based approaches can offer several advantages over traditional methods, including high efficiency, low cost, and the ability to target specific pollutants.

In this talk, the focus will be on the different approaches for the synthesis of tungsten disulfide and its composites for wastewater treatment with the help of photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical characterizations. In terms of biocompatibility, gold and silver are the trusted materials, so it will be great to study the nanocomposites based on gold and silver nanoparticles. The drying patterns combined with the thin film patterning techniques will open a new optimized usage of these colloidal solutions made out of gold and silver-based nanoparticles for many applications.
