The canteen serves nutritious food at subsidized rates throughout the year and maintains hygiene and cleanliness at the kitchen and guest house.
The RRI Guest House consists of a number of units in buildings located within the Institute campus. All the rooms are furnished, most have attached facilities, and a few have kitchenettes. Effort is made to appropriately accommodate Distinguished Visitors and Visiting Academics, including visiting doctoral students in the various guest rooms.
The Guest House has an associated Canteen, which provides meals to visitors accommodated in the guest rooms. Many members of the Institute also use the Canteen during the lunch hour, and in the early evening for refreshments.
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Breakfast and dinner are served in the dining hall of the Guest House. Breakfast is served between 7.30am and 9.30am, and dinner between 7.30pm and 9.00 pm. Most visitors join the staff of the Institute for lunch, which is available at the guest house canteen between 12.30 and 1.30 pm. These timings are indicative and, with prior intimation, the Canteen staff endeavour to provide meals outside these hours when the need arises.
Snack Vending Machine
A fully automated vending machine offering longer shelf-life products such as energy bars, chocolates, cakes, fruit juice, etc. is placed in the dining hall for the benefit of those who want to have a quick snack anytime during the day or night.
Refreshments & Snacks
Following a set menu, refreshments & snacks are served between 5.00 and 6.30 pm. There are also several eateries within a 3 km radius of our campus; more upmarket restaurants exist around the city.
Laundry
Washing machines are provided in all the buildings where guest rooms are located; guests may use these.
Room cleaning
Rooms are cleaned daily by the staff of the Guest House.
Drinking water
Bottled drinking water is available with canteen staff. There are water coolers with modern filters in the dining area of the Guest House as well as in many of the buildings on the Institute campus.
Computing facilities
All the guest rooms are provided with LAN and WLAN connectivity. WLAN details are provided in writing in all the guest rooms. Guests may refer these.
ATMs and supermarkets
There are several banks and supermarkets outside the Institute campus within walking distance.
GH/ Canteen working hours
The GH/Canteen services are available every day between 7am and 10pm. The services remain closed for the rest of the hours.
Visitors Lounge
There is a visitors lounge room on the ground floor of the Canteen building. Guests/ Hosts may use this facility at the appropriate time.
