The tale of the tailenders
Speaker: Surajit Paul (Pune University, Pune)
Many structures at large scales (LSS) of the Universe are yet to be understood well, especially one that falls at the tail end of the hierarchy. The dynamical evolution that violently disturbs and churns their dilute plasma medium is better visible through their non-thermal properties such as synchrotron radio emissions, elucidating the existence of GeV electrons and the cosmic magnetic fields ubiquitous to the diffuse cosmic material. However, as usual, the poor and minors among them remained ignored for a long, particularly in the radio band, creating a vacuum of information in the evolutionary scenario of the structural hierarchy. In this talk, I will narrate the story of such a left-out population of cosmic structures, their journey to prominence in recent scientific discussions and our leading role in this process.
