About

The research interests broadly lie on Physics of Soft matter, Phase Transitions, Physical properties of liquid crystals, Soft nano-composites, Micro Raman spectroscopy and Mean field theories of liquid crystals. In particular, the molecular self-organizations and emergent properties are investigated for various conventional and non-conventional liquid crystals. A class of organic materials are studied that exhibit phases with liquid like order yet show ferroelectric or antiferroelectric properties. The study of liquid crystals is not only of fundamental interest but also have potential technological applications such as display devices. Due to the strong anisotropic shape of the molecules, these materials display an astounding range of complex behavior many of them are yet to be explored.
