Abstract: As one of the oldest sciences, astronomy traces man's attempt to understand nature. Its influence on culture and tradition is well known. It shows up in ancient monuments, Literature, and paintings as well. The evolution into written documents can be traced in stone inscriptions. That is not all; even folk tales and proverbs have promoted this idea of adapting to nature. Several examples depicting these ideas will be discussed.
