Abstract

From the vantage point of a tiny speck of cosmic dust, Earth, humanity has made commendably robust deductions about our vast cosmos and most of its history. Over the past decade and half, it has been becoming increasingly clear that cosmological observations are homing on to a concordance model of the Universe -something that even gets referred to as a 'standard model' of Cosmology. In particular, the exquisite ESA Planck measurements of the Cosmic Microwave Background has now observational verification of the the Standard model of cosmology with remarkable precision. This talk reviews this amazing story of human intellect behind this road of discoveries.
