Abstract

Abstract: We briefly review some of the manifestations of spin-orbit and orbit-orbit interactions in optical systems in general. We focus on optical systems with off-axis beams incident with small tilt angles. We present explicit results for diffraction of an off axis vector beam incident on a tilted circular aperture [1]. We extend the results to a tilted tweezer system resulting in enhanced transverse spin and Belinfante momentum [2].

 

About the speaker: Prof. Subhasish Dutta Gupta is Honorary Professor at University of Hyderabad and Adjunct Professor, Tata Institute for Fundamental Research Research Adjunct Professor, IISER, Kolkata. His main research interests are in theoretical optics, plasmonics, nano-optics, quantum and nonlinear optics.
