Abstract

There are problems in Number Theory which are simple to state, yet have resisted a complete solution for over a millennium. This talk will feature some such problems.

Short Biography
Sujatha Ramdorai currently holds a Canada Research Chair at the Department of Mathematics, University of British Columbia, Canada. She completed her Ph.D in Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) and was a Professor there before her move to Canada. She served as a Member of the National Knowledge Commission (2006-2009), the National Innovation Council (2009-2014) and the Prime Minister's Scientific Advisory Council (2008-2014). She is a recepient of Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award (2004), ICTP Ramanujan Award (2006); Krieger-Nelson Prize (2020) and Padmashri (2023).
