Abstract
My research at RRI has touched upon a variety of areas over the years. The topics range between classical and quantum statistical mechanics, soft matter physics, classical and quantum optics, quantum information and a soft matter analogue of a quantum gravity prediction. I will restrict my canvas to a particular slice in this talk. This slice consists of my research topics at RRI which touch upon the idea of a random walk, or its continuum limit, Brownian motion, and its applications to various topics-biological physics and the quantum to classical transition via decoherence, for instance. I will try to give a perspective on my academic journey at RRI.
