Prof. Biman Nath is a renowned astrophysicist in the field of galaxies and cosmology. He has been a pillar of the RRI scientific community for nearly 30 years. His research, mentorship, and contributions to science communication have been deeply impactful.
During his tenure at Raman Research Institute (RRI), Prof. Nath has supervised numerous PhD students, post-docs, and visitors. He is known not only for his extensive scientific publications but also for his popular science writings in English and Bengali.
Beyond academia, his artistic flair - in music, literature, and painting - has enriched RRI's cultural fabric. On 31st January, Prof. Nath officially retired, marking the end of an era. This conference is organized to honor his contributions and gather scientists, colleagues, and students to discuss galaxies and cosmology in his honor.
