Abstract

I will present results from multi-scale observations of radio outflows in low luminosity AGN, focusing on Seyfert and LINER galaxies. Despite their relatively weak radio emission, these systems frequently host jets, winds, and extended radio structures, raising questions about how outflows are launched and how they couple to their host galaxy environments. Using observations with the VLA, GMRT, and VLBA, together with optical spectroscopy and emission-line modelling, we have investigated the morphology, magnetic fields, and impact of these outflows from parsec to kiloparsec scales. Polarization imaging of Seyfert and LINER galaxies have revealed magnetically stratified outflows that could either be spine+sheath jets or jet+wind systems.

VLBA observations of the KISSR sample of double-peaked emission-line AGN have revealed a surprisingly high incidence of parsec-scale jets. Their connection to narrow-line region gas has been explored using SDSS spectroscopy and MAPPINGS models which suggest that shocks driven by AGN outflows can contribute to gas ionization in their host galaxies. Overall, our research suggests that multi-component outflows from episodically powered AGN may provide “local AGN feedback” even in low-luminosity, radio-quiet AGN.
