Showcasing RRI

Showcasing RRI is the first of a series of conferences planned as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The conference will focus on RRI's research areas in the fields of astronomy and astrophysics, light and matter physics, soft condensed matter, and theoretical physics.  Members of the institute from different themes will share their research with peers on this platform. The talks will be at the level of a colloquium, aimed at communicating current research to fellow faculty, PDF, and students at RRI, as well as visitors from neighboring Institutions.

• Prof. Rajaram Nityananda on the Journey of RRI 
• Address by Chief Guest Dr Srivari Chandrasekhar, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India
• Address by the Guest of Honour Shri S. Somanath, Chairman ISRO 
• Dr S Seetha on the Space Science activities at RRI

Afternoon session 1 PM - 3:40 PM

Talks by former faculty members, Prof. N V Madhusudhana,  Prof. Joseph Samuel, Prof. Bala Iyer,  and Prof. Avinash Deshpande,  on the evolution of various research themes of the institute over the years.
